This webpage contains information resources and services that are available to the university community. You are always encouraged to visit the UL LIS webpage. Once in this virtual space, you will be able to find and access a wide range of resources, including the Library catalogue, online databases, electronic books, Institutional Repository, and Ask-A-Librarian service.

The LIS provide a wide variety of quality learning resources through monographs, print, and online subscription-based journals as well as the world’s quality peer-reviewed scholarly literature. This is freely available through digital commons networks (Open Access initiatives). In all this, we are guided by four strategic domains i.e. support of teaching and learning, research, and community engagement programmes of the university. The UL Library is a learning organisation that strategically aligns and integrates services, resources, programmes and technologies with the mission and goals of the university.

Systematic integration of the LIS is core as we constantly strive to adapt to the forces reshaping, teaching and learning, research and community engagement, while cognizant of the emerging technologies, the socio-economic and political factors that constitute change.

Staff, researchers and postgraduate students can use the interlibrary loan services to obtain resources not available in our collection. You can learn much by using the expert advisory services offered by the Library’s knowledgeable staff.  Subject Librarians can provide training to improve your information literacy skills and guide you in accessing the best information for your assignments and projects. They will help you to navigate the vast amount of information available and then to locate, select and acquire the information you need.  They provide a broad range of specialised information services in support of study and research in subject fields.

Your comments, suggestions and feedback on how we can assist you better are always appreciated.  Please give us your input at [email protected] or use Suggestion Boxes found on all library floors or the “Comments” option on the LIS catalogue on this webpage.

“Your library, your partner in the creation, innovation and management of knowledge”
