The University of Limpopo (UL) has announced that it is accepting late applications only in the sciences (except health sciences) and accountancy streams

Since the release of the matric results last week, the university has been updating the statuses of applications for all first enterings through its online and SMS systems and is issuing out acceptance letters to qualifying applicants.

The university’s registration for first entering students’ starts on Monday, 13 to Thursday, 16 January 2020.

The University Registrar, Prof Kwena Masha, says the university received over 75 000 applications for the 2020 academic year against only 5000 spaces, but is still open for late applications in the sciences and accountancy streams provided candidates have good grades in mathematics.

Prospective students are urged to use the online facility to apply online and track their application status to avoid bearing the brunt of standing in long queues for enquiries at the schools. Official communication will be relayed to them at the comfort of their homes.

Masha added that the university will consider those whose status is on the waiting list after registration provided there is space available across the schools. He implored that those who received acceptance letters should report for registration during the scheduled dates to avoid forfeiting their spaces.

He said that important information regarding applications, registration and fees will be communicated on this website. Students who are funded by NSFAS do not need to pay the registration fee. Bursary students should submit letters of payment commitment from their sponsors.
