University Of Cape Town Venue Hire

University Of Cape Town Venue Hire, UCT has a beautiful campus with several areas suitable for outdoor or semi-outdoor events, as well as beautiful historic residences (and modern ones too) containing suitably appointed dining halls for events. These facilities are only available to UCT staff and students in residence. UCT catering must be used; no outside catering is allowed.

The events management unit manages all major UCT corporate events, especially those hosted in the names of the Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor.
All conferences held at the university must be formally approved by Senate and sponsored by a UCT faculty, department or unit.
How to apply to hold a conference, seminar or workshop at UCT:

• You may print the CMD01 form: application to host an academic event at UCT (link on right) or obtain forms for approval from the Head: Institutional Events.
• The form may be completed electronically, signed by the head of department and returned to the Manager: Events and Public Relations.
• The Manager: Events and Public Relations will request the necessary approval from Senate and you will be advised of the outcome.
• The Manager: Events and Public Relations will then be able to assist you in an advisory capacity. For conference management assistance please see details below.

UCT Breakwater Lodge

From its Portswood Ridge vantage point, UCT’s Breakwater Lodgecommand a birds-eye view of the restored harbour and forms part of the Breakwater Campus of UCT’s Graduate School of Business.
